What is NHSS Certification?
National Highways Sector Schemes (NHSS) are industry-specific quality management systems designed for organisations working on the UK’s road network. Built on the ISO 9001 framework, they ensure that work is carried out by competent, trained professionals using consistent, high-quality processes.
NHSS certification is often a mandatory requirement for contractors working on National Highways projects and is widely recognised by local authorities and major clients across the UK.
What Do Schemes 13 & 16 Cover?
Scheme 13 relates to the supply and application of surface treatments such as surface dressing, slurry surfacing and microsurfacing. These treatments play a vital role in preserving road surfaces, improving skid resistance, and extending asset life.
Scheme 16 covers the laying of asphalt mixes, including both machine-laid and hand-laid operations. It ensures that all works are delivered using qualified operatives, controlled processes, and strict safety standards.
This milestone supports our continued growth and strengthens our position as a trusted partner for surfacing, highways, and infrastructure projects nationwide.
We look forward to bringing this enhanced capability to both new and existing clients across the UK!
