EvaBuild complete the CHX Challenge – Meet Your Mountain 2024!

7th October 2024

CRASH: The UK construction industry charity since 1996. Helping homelessness charities and hospices with vital construction projects. Creating places that care for people.

A brave group of six from EvaBuild took on a daunting challenge from 4th – 5th October 2024; the CHX Meet your Mountain challenge!

On Friday 4th October, Andy Hughes, Dan Jones, Jordan Jones, Nick Evans, Steve Andrew and Warren Sherwood took on the CHX Challenge in aid of CRASH Charity. The CHX Challenge organise bespoke mountain challenges in the Alps, with the EvaBuild climb taking place in Chamonix.

Organised by modular construction specialists Reds10, the climb took place over two days, with a remote refuge point camp halfway up the mountain at the end of day one. It wasn’t just EvaBuild taking part, three other teams were also competing. An overall winner would be crowned based on distance covered and completion of various other tasks around physical challenge, strategy and connection.

The climb was in aid of CRASH Charity, a UK construction industry charity since 1996, helping homelessness charities and hospices with vital construction projects. EvaBuild made a fantastic contribution to the overall fundraising with a grand total in excess of £4,000; the highest amount raised by any of the competing teams!

At the end of the climb on Saturday 5th October, EvaBuild had climbed 2,550M and received 42 points for distance covered and various other challenges. Finishing as runners up overall by just one point, but winners to all of their colleagues at EvaBuild who are so proud of their achievement.

The team reflected on their adventure and said “Taking part in the CHX Challenge was a huge privilege and we can all agree, one of the hardest physical things any of us have put ourselves through. Knowing we were being cheered on by our colleagues, family and friends at home kept us going and we’re so pleased to have raised over £4,000 for CRASH Charity and the vital work they do in the UK.”

A huge well done to our team!
