In October 2023, EvaBuild were contracted to fulfil the groundworks on a project to provide a new depot for modular building specialists The Wernick Group. The works provided Wernick Power Solutions & Wernick Buildings with a spacious level yard, with one of their own modular buildings as their office facility. The project took place on a busy industrial estate, efficient traffic management was enforced by EvaBuild to minimise disruption – S278 and S106 works in roadways. 

We take pride in every project we do. The Wernick Group contracting EvaBuild for their own project is a testament to the relationships we build and nurture with our Clients, as well as the service we provide. It was a privilege to develop this yard for The Wernick Group, as we continue to work collaboratively on a multitude of projects.  

Works began with a comprehensive site investigation including a topographic utility survey, percolation test and design and CCTV drainage survey. With this information, design of the new site layout including drainage was undertaken by EvaBuild.  

Drainage works and construction of a new entrance to the site required traffic management, which allowed surrounding businesses to operate as normal. 

Prior to modular install, pad foundations and stone oversite were installed, with a perimeter kerb and sub floor vent detail constructed to the perimeter of units to promote level access.   

Following modular install EvaBuild completed the project with new tarmac footpaths to the rear, re-alignment of fencing, new entrance gates and 5,500m2 of new reinforced concrete yard.

Full scope of works: 

  • Site Investigations including topographic utility survey, percolation test and design, CCTV drainage survey, asbestos demolition survey and setting out.
  • Demolition to existing modular cabin in preparation for new Wernick Group unit
  • Reduce dig to entire site to achieve level formation
  • Pad foundations and stone oversite to new Modular Building
  • Construction of new 2no concrete rafts for new portal frame buildings
  • Drainage including Foul, Storm, Petrol Interceptor and 420m3 attenuation tank
  • Section 106 drainage connection in roadway
  • New tarmac footpaths
  • Creation of new site access with a bell mouth entrance – S278
  • New fencing and gates  
  • Construct 5,500m2 new concrete yard
